I was just sneek peeking through the trees in my backyard when suddenly i saw a yellow greenish bird with a caterpillar in its mouth.Since that was time of monsoons I expected many birds that time. Its colour and its voice was quite eminent and it was no surprise that i got hooked on it.

I had just thought that the bird was just a visitor in my backyard, till the next day when i saw another bird of the same species sitting in the nest that was built very strategically such that it avoided rain amd direct sun. The nest was built between the two branches of the tree that looks similar to that of christmas tree. The bird sat in the nest very comfortably oblivious of the surroundings and the chaos of the playing kids and passing vehicles.

With days passing by I loved to observe the movements of both birds. Their expressions, curiosity of looking towards me caught my eyes. I would observe their activities during the early mornings when they used to chirp aloud.During afternoons the smaller bird would be seen in the nest resting or probably giving warmth to the eggs laid in the nest. Its expression were quite dramatic, similar to the graphics used in angry birds I guess. Here is a low key image of the same bird in the nest taken early morning.

The birds activites like peeking in its nest and having a satisfaction that they all were ok used to be visible in its eyes. Well this may be an exaggeration or just my way of looking at it.But she used to be one busy bird those days.

Now it was quite evident that the bird used to be curious about humans near its nest. May be she was too wary of them.No wonder she used to communicate through her eyes.

Then one fine day when I heard the chirping more than what used to be everyday I just went out to have a sneek peek into its nest. Here is what I saw.........

The baby birds sleeping and taking warmth of their mothers feathers, was truely a wonderful sight.I was cautious of getting near to its nest from the beginning hence i could see only one baby bird. Now observing the mother along with her babies was a feast to the eyes.

Both elder birds took turns to guard the nest and bring food. The bigger bird probably male used to bring caterpillars etc and feed the babies. Smaller bird used to look for food in the interim. So wonderful was their rapport that even humans can learn from them.....

After some days the babies could be seen alone in the nest waiting for the birds to come in the nest. That too was an awesome sight to see and record. Here is what I could manage.....

As the law of nature goes there has to be a new chapter in life. For a new chapter to start the present should have a meaningful end.It certainly was. Some days later the nest was seen empty with only the twigs and dry grass remaining. The birds had flew away for a new future, new beginning in their life. And i was left with their memories to cherish.......
